Religion isn't the words. It's about doing in action.

I am tired of people bashing religion for its own sake; for they forget religion is not the rule of law, but the spirit of the law. It is not as much the religion as it is the principles behind it -- which is essentially acting civilized and treating others nice, which in turn has them acting nice too. Or so the theory goes...

Trouble is, some religions ARE replete with verses (and people) who are anything but "nice". In ways the ones I knew are good family men and so on, but I don't take kindly to death threats because I don't believe as they do. Jesus certainly wouldn't approve of that.

And if it takes "profiling" to keep decent people from those that want to commit mass murder, that's fine by me. Sometimes God needs His creation to do the actual work of keeping one's fellow man in line, to keep them from committing mass murder. If for no other reason, a football team is praying God will let them win.

People should be allowed break times and allowed to be people, because God made us as people and not robotic machines, but maybe those who hire can mix people of various religions so when a gaggle goes off to pray, the rest can keep things going. And vice-versa.

You can probably take random guesses as to which religion(s) I am referring to. But it oughtn't be necessary. Just be nice and respectful of others, as so others should be to you. It's when the crackpots and narcissists go out of their way to bestow their pompous mis-perceptions, especially via violence, that things get out of control.

Why the attacks on Ms. Palin are morally wrong:

People bash her, saying she is an evangelical Christian and yet she has a daughter who got pregnant, as a teenager, outside of marriage.

Well, guess what? Parents can tell their offspring anything. But even parents have to grapple with external influences such as peer pressure, media messages, and other sociological trends.

Anybody who attacks her citing hypocrisy is being myopic and naive. And you owe her an apology too. Unless you have been inside her house and can prove she hasn't taught her kids anything. Which you dare not do, because many of you also complain about spying on peoples' personal lives, while also ignoring the core issues such as peer pressure and its influences (once again, the media).

And what does the media often hype up? Sex. Sex sex sex sex sex. Inconsequential sex. As if it's no different than trading cookie recipes. People have forgotten that sex is an expression of love that involves respect for others... and self-respect.

My two cents - should the auto companies be bailed out?

We should not bail them out. Not because the economy depends on consumer spending (which means, bailing out hard the working, decent Americans* who in turn pay for the goods to keep companies in business) but because the people these CEOs lobby always tell us to pull ourselves up by our own shoelaces, "survival of the fittest", and so on.

Also, this MSN article, not written by me, makes a point why a 65MPH Ford won't be sold in the US: The pound/dollar ratio is 1.95/1. It's made in the UK, why can it not be made here in the US? It's also said the cost of labor is too high. At least UK citizens can afford it, or can afford other means of transportation as needed.
